Rachel Hughes is a Milwaukee-based illustrator and designer. By day she works at a digital printing shop, and every other waking hour is spent creating. She is continually inspired by her surroundings, in nature, people, culture, cities, and the interconnections between them.

Graduating with a Bachelor's in Visual Arts in 2012 with an emphasis in Graphic Design, she was frustrated with the disconnect of designing solely on computers, eager to work with her hands. She didn’t stumble upon this distinctive, bold style until the following year while experimenting with the combining of images and designs to create a cohesive impactful illustration on wood. Every piece since that fateful day has been created using markers, acrylic paint and ink on wood panels.

Her art has blossomed and continued to evolve ever since, showcasing both original works of art and prints in a wide variety of local venues.
